How to Talk to Someone Who Truly Listens — in English, in Switzerland

You've been searching for an English-speaking listener in Zürich, Geneva, Basel or somewhere else in Switzerland — someone who genuinely cares and won't judge. Here's exactly how listeningservice.ch works, from first message to first conversation.

1

Send Me a WhatsApp — In Your Own Words

Click the WhatsApp button anywhere on this site, or save my number: +41 78 262 75 22. Prefer email? Write to jabu@listeningservice.ch.

Your first message can be as simple as "Hi Jabu, I'm an expat in Zürich and I could use someone to talk to." That's enough. No intake forms, no sign-ups, no waiting lists. I reply personally — usually within a few hours during Swiss waking hours.

Why WhatsApp? Because every expat in Switzerland already uses it. No new apps to download, no account to create. It's end-to-end encrypted, it's private, and it's the lowest-friction way to reach out when you're finally ready to talk.

Book a 30-Minute Session — CHF 20, Flat

We agree on a time that suits you. Sessions happen via WhatsApp voice call, regular phone, or video — whichever feels most comfortable. A lot of people prefer voice-only: more intimate, less pressure, no need to fix your hair.

One simple price: CHF 20 for 30 focused minutes. No starter packages, no "discovery call" upsells, no weekly subscriptions. If one session is what you need, that's what you pay for. If you want another one next week, message me again.

For reference: therapists in Switzerland charge CHF 150–250 per session. Life coaches are similar. A listening service is intentionally different — cheaper, lighter, non-clinical. It's not a replacement for therapy; it's the thing for all the moments that don't need therapy.

Talk. I Listen. Then Twint CHF 20.

At the agreed time I'll call (or message to start a chat). You lead. Talk about whatever is on your mind — Swiss bureaucracy driving you mad, your ex, your mother's health back home, your colleague situation, your work, your kids, your doubts, your small good things. Or about nothing in particular. Sometimes the most healing conversations have no topic.

What I won't do: diagnose you, prescribe anything, or tell you what to do. I won't repeat back your feelings in an annoying therapist voice either.

What I will do: be fully present, listen attentively, stay warm, and make you feel heard — perhaps for the first time in a long time in Switzerland.

Afterwards I send you a Twint request for CHF 20. You tap twice and it's done. That's how Swiss people pay each other for everything now — and I kept it that way on purpose.

Twint — The Swiss Way, One Tap

After the session I send a Twint request to your Swiss phone number. You confirm with Face ID or a PIN. No credit card forms, no PayPal detours, no foreign currency conversions, no receipts in your inbox. Just the standard Swiss way of paying a friend.
